The Riesener Collection by Nathan E. Hill
The Riesener Collection is one of four original commode sets to date by award winning craftsman Nathan E. Hill. This collection is constructed from a careful selection of genuine Honduran mahogany, mahogany crotch veneers, and carpathium elm burl veneers. The legs and fretwork are hand-shaped, the inlays hand-cut, and the finishes a passionate blend of tung oil and varnish hand rubbed to perfection. These pieces are constructed with such old world craftsmanship as dovetail and mortise-and-tenon joinery, faceted with true 18th century reproduction hardware, and each piece is signed by the craftsman for recognition in centuries to come. This set has been displayed at various shows over the past few years and as a result has one minor, almost invisible, scratch on one of the tops.
